Capsule 46: Summer Casual meets Business Casual

My life has transitioned from business casual to summer casual with a new job and more freedom, so I'm trying to find ways to incorporate my business casual pieces into my everyday wardrobe. Honestly, if I can't successfully incorporate all of the pieces into my everyday wardrobe, I'll probably toss most of it. There's no room in my life for stuff I won't wear more than once or twice a year, which can be managed with a few key pieces. This week the main business piece was a gray skirt, and I have to say I'm still on the fence about it! It needs to be tested more, cause it did not pass my weekly wardrobe test with flying colors.

This is way more what my wardrobe looks like now. Comfy and very casual. Comfort is of the utmost importance now, then, and forever.

I feel like this has the potential to be a good casual skirt, but the question is how! I'm thinking it may be more suited for the fall or with short-sleeve shirts. This cami is just not the right style for it, but hey can't blame a girl for trying. I share my outfit failures and successes here, because this is not a perfect world. As evidenced by recent political events 🙄

Here is summer casual at its FINEST. I mean I look prettyyyyy dang good, and I am not ashamed to say it. If you've watched my recent Insta Stories, you'll know I'm kind of obsessed with Mamma Mia! lately, since I just watched it for the first time...and that I am ashamed to say. It is SO good!! I'm really not a big musical person, but man. That soundtrack has been on repeat for about a week, and I think it's influencing my style a bit. I was feeling especially greek in this dress, worthy of wine and a concert from Donna and the Dynamos.

This last outfit reads as a mix between "I'm hiking the Appalachian Trail for the next six months" and "I spend my days riding waves at the beach with my boyfriend named Zane". Neither of those which apply, because my body rejects sun.

Overall, I would give this capsule  3/5. I wasn't pleased with all of the outfits, but that is the nature of the beast. Sometimes your pieces don't always work together, but live and learn. I try not to get down when I can't figure out THE perfect outfit from my pieces, because not every piece is meant to carry the rest of your wardrobe. Bad outfit days will happen just like your bad hair days. You can change your outfit, but I can't help with your hair. Have you seen this mess?!
