I Wore This Jewelry for a Week – Rellery Review
Psst, I hear you’re looking for ethically made jewelry at a dang good price *shifty eyes*. What am I, a dealer in a 90s kids TV show?
But, if I’m being real, Rellery feels like a secret that’s too good to share, but for you, I will.
I like my jewelry to have a a bit of a statement. I want people to know it’s there. I want to know it’s there. I also want it to be made ethically and of sustainable materials.
Unfortunately, most ethical and sustainable jewelry isn’t my style.
Rellery enters from stage right.
Luckily, there’s a new option for all of us tender hearted, statement loving, jewelry people.
I was so kindly gifted these pieces by Rellery, and I wanted to do more than just talk about how beautiful they are. See, I’m not a big spender on jewelry.
I like affordable jewelry, but I also don’t want the things I wear to tarnish quickly or not be able to withstand semi-regular use. I get a little upset if I wear something twice and it already looks worn.
Rellery’s pieces have a “Lifetime Tarnish Guarantee” and honestly, that hooked me. So, I wanted to put it to the test.
What better way to put it to the test than to wear the jewelry for an entire week, not even taking off the pieces to shower or sleep. I’m going all in, and below is what happened.
Day 1
I’ll be real, I typically don’t wear a lot of jewelry. It’s the easiest way to take your outfit up a notch, but I often feel like the jewelry I have is cumbersome or makes me feel weighed down. Rings and necklaces in particular bother me!
So, I was kind of nervous to be wearing a ring for an entire week AND a necklace. Thankfully, the Beacon ring was very light and fit my index finger well, so it didn’t move around and annoy me. But this first day of sleeping and showering in my jewelry was nerve racking and weird. I felt like I was going to come out of the shower and it would all be rusted (totally illogical) or that my necklace would strangle me in my sleep (again, illogical)!
Day 2
I woke up not strangled and the jewelry none the worse for the wear. One thing I particularly liked were the huggie earrings. The way it clasps means there’s no stopper on the back to fall off in the night anddd no pointy end sticking into my head.
I haven’t been a fan of other huggie earrings I’ve seen, because I felt they were kind of boring. BUT! This pair has a little drop pearl on each which is the perfect amount of statement earring without being in your face.
Day 3
I’m slowly getting used to wearing jewelry nonstop and it feels less like a weight on me now. I’ve pretty much forgotten the earrings are even in my ears until I look at myself in the mirror (which is a lot), ha!
And alas, nothing has rusted or looks even the least bit tarnished. Alsooo, maybe I’m crazy but I feel like the shower helps to wash off some of that skin buildup that your jewelry gets? You know how it can get a bit oily and look duller (or maybe that’s just me).
Day 4
Gotta say, I am loving this Bold Tulip Necklace. Tulips are hands down my favorite flower and I sometimes wish I had a tulip tattoo, so this is a good non-permanent option. Also, I really like the length of it.
This pendant is pretty bold, so I feel like it would be A LOT and in your face if it was any shorter. The 18 inch chain is the perfect length for a subtle statement and to ensure that I don’t get choked in my sleep (both are important).
Day 5
I am kind of at the point of wanting to rip this jewelry off. I went from being absolutely comfortable wearing a necklace, earrings, and a ring nonstop to never wanting a thing on my body again! I’m just very, very sensitive to the things on my body, so this is a real test for me.
Nonetheless, it is worth it because this is an ultra crash course in how Rellery jewelry will fare from heavy use. None of the jewelry is bothering me in any consequential way, my mind is just like “WE GET IT YOU CAN WEAR JEWELRY”! I will persist in this very brave journey.
Day 6
Okay, my mind has had a minute to chill out and I’m no longer counting down the seconds until I wear jewelry during the day only.
I actually feel very cool doing this. I’ve always been jealous of those women who have their signature jewelry they always wear, and I’ve wanted to adopt that. This experiment is a great test for doing so and figuring out what kind of pieces I would want to be my signature.
Day 7
I feel naked. My neck, my ears, my index finger all feel incredibly exposed. Okay, maybe exposed is the wrong word, but it felt very odd to take off my jewelry after an entire week. I think I’ll definitely start wearing jewelry more often and spoiler alert, I think these huggie earrings and ring will be my signature!
As you can see above, all of the pieces look virtually the same as the day I got them in the mail. Which is kind of insane.
I mean, I wore these pieces for approximately 168 straight hours and it’s like yeah no biggie. I slept in these, I sweat in these, I showered in these.
After this kind of test, I couldn’t recommend Rellery more for chic, modern yet timeless jewelry that will clearly last you a lifetime (and not break the bank).
